Irina Polin
“Working with porcelain is like rediscovering history. My idea was to combine the old craftsmanship and the traditional genre with modern way of painting and contemporary art.”
Irina Polin, born in Moscow in 1971, has lived in Switzerland since 1995 and has already won two photography prizes there, the Magazine Photography Prize in Zurich and the Berne Photography Prize.
Polin has become known for her enigmatic, sensually erotic and most definitely troubling photos of dolls choreographed in unambiguous positions on top of appetising meals, crisp salads and seductive desserts.
