K. O. Götz has been one of the leading exponents of “Informel” painting in Germany since the 1950’s. His powerful work imbues the painted surface with vibrant rhythm that conveys the painter’s bodily input when producing his pictures.

1959 Exhibited at documenta II in Kassel

1979 Professorship
at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, his students including Gerhard Richter, Gotthard
Graubner and Sigmar Polke
1997 Founded the “K.O.Götz and Rissa Foundation”.
