MEISSEN presents Tercentenary Collection in Japan
On 6 April, Dr Christian Kurtzke, Managing Director of Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur MEISSEN®, presented the year’s collection of Limited MEISSEN® Artworks in Japan as part of the Manufactory’s tercentenary celebrations.
Numerous representatives from the Japanese media (TV, radio and press) as well as representatives from the German embassy gathered at Japan’s Industry Club in Tokyo to experience the presentation by the MEISSEN® supremo personally. Dr Kurtzke went into the Manufactory’s strategy in depth and also presented some of the latest innovations such as the new gift settings as well as providing insights into the new MEISSEN® jewellery collection.
The press conference was simultaneously the starting signal for a series of exhibitions and events that the Manufactory has finalised with Japan’s leading luxury department stores for this tercentenary year and 2011.
Once the conference was over, Dr Kurtzke travelled on to Kyoto in order to personally open the first MEISSEN tercentenary exhibition in Japan there.
