Rooster Pot, 11x8 cm

Just like its early model, this droll piece transforms a Fenghuan bird into a more familiar rooster in the shape of a little pot destined for a festive table. The piece became part of the Meissen product line as early as 1735. It bears witness to the porcelain imported from Eastern Asia, given its own expression and art through Meissen artistry. Thus the proud cock looks back to his past over his gilded feathers and at the same time becomes a symbol of his rich future. We celebrate it along with our tercentenary!
