Vase "Birds of Paradise", H 33 cm

The vase as the archetype of good taste: Paul Scheurich achieved this with his design. The silhouette with its beautiful body and straight neck quotes the harmonious design of classical vases from any perspective. But looked at from a horizontal intersection, Scheurich’s design becomes more complex: from the base, the square wanders upwards – the circle gets corners! Architecture thus determines the essence of the vawse’s clear form, which now wants to be part of a designed environment and a significant element in a cultivated interior. An object quite confident in its claims. Designed in 1937, today a paradisiacal décor in blue paint and final gilding adorns this special treasure.
