There are not many firms who can claim they were suppliers to the Royal Court. As well as being the first supplier of porcelain to European royalty, however, the MEISSEN® Manufactory with its white gold was actually founded by a king, Augustus the Strong.
King Augustus made his first big impression with presents from the MEISSEN® Manufactory as early as 1711, King Frederik of Denmark being the lucky recipient. It goes without saying that modern-day royalty are welcomed in due style with a banquet served off of Meissen porcelain, a case in point being the Queen of Denmark when she visited Dresden.
