The "Vase Hunting Scenes" is reminiscent of the aristocratic passions: Being master of nature and waste to self-glory. Hunting became the privilege of the rulers. For this purpose, magnificent castles were built and magnificently equipped to entertain large groups. Modelled on copper engravings by Johann Elias Ridinger, these scenes in all their sumptuousness were immortalised on the most precious chimney vases especially for the Saxon hunting lodge Hubertusburg. The hunting painting shows a masterpiece of Meissen's top artists.
