With the "Afternoon Garden" vase, Olaf Hajek invites the viewer into a visual world of fantastic gardens and their mysterious residents. Fantastical figurines are a perfect fit to the opulent natural spectacle of exotic plants, fruits and animals, enjoying the lightness of being in the enchanted thicket. An apparently endless green plant tendril - a sign of the eternal cycle of nature - connects the naturalistic creatures. The Meissen artist Ludwig Sturm (1844-1926) first designed the original shape of the vase in 1890, which is now artfully reinterpreted and exclusively limited to 10 pieces.
