During his more than 50 years at MEISSEN, internationally renowned porcelain painter Professor Heinz Werner created more than 100 designs and pictorial motifs that significantly shaped the manufactory's creative trajectory in the 20th century. In honour of his 90th birthday, MEISSEN is reintroducing one of his most famous designs - "Arabian Nights" - on a heart-shaped vase created by Ludwig Zepner in 1996. Merging suggestive modern trends and traditional miniature painting, these scenic depictions are rich with fantasy and inspired by the world of Oriental folk tales. Here, we see Asem and his beloved, the daughter of the King of Djinn with his palace decorating the back of the vase. Genuine gold edging around the base and the opening of the vase frame the scene in opulent splendour.
