For the "Limited Masterworks 2019" collection, MEISSEN has redesigned a slender bottle shape to feature the opulent "Snowball Blossoms" decor for the first time. The extravagant design is an expression of Johann Joachim Kaendler's exceptional genius, and was created in 1739 at the behest of King Augustus III for his wife, Maria Josepha of Austria. To this day, every single blossom is applied to the object by hand and individually hand-painted. Covered with a lavish abundance of delicate "Snowball Blossoms", the piece loses all sense of ordinariness and quotidian utility. The vine that winds its way through the sea of flowers and the birds perched upon it provide the object with an added dimension and lend the bottle a sense of liveliness. The sophistication of the design is truly emblematic of the remarkable skills of the manufactory's artisans.
