The 36 cm high brilliant white figurine with its filigree appearance shows the herons living in the exotic countries of this world in a naturalistic way - the single figurine "Heron" appears almost alive. Years of experience as well as the highest level of craftsmanship are required to achieve this noble depiction in the finest Meissen porcelain. In addition, the composition of the mass and the firing technique must be optimally coordinated to achieve the special hardness and high degree of whiteness of genuine Meissen porcelain. Since the founding of the manufactory, maritime worlds have inspired the imagination as well as the inventive spirit of Meissen porcelain artists: from crayfish jars or the Baroque "Swan Service" to animal sculptures or porcelain vases with elaborate blue painting. This is also the case with the single figurine "Heron" by the artist Elfriede Reichel-Drechsler, created in 1957 from white Meissen porcelain.
