The Meissen Porcelain Manufactory includes an exhibition of contemporary art in Meissen.

The exhibition shows works by artists from all over the world. These porcelain artworks were made at the MEISSEN artCAMPUS®, a “further step towards our goal of positioning the Meissen manufactory in the international field of contemporary art. At the same time, we hope this will be one more reason for people from all over the world to visit our city”, explains MEISSEN® CEO Dr. Christian Kurtzke.

"We are using the building’s façade as a canvas." The motif chosen is Rauchzug by the German artist K. O. Goetz, one of the first works created on the artCAMPUS® – the original is exhibited in the museum. Goetz, who is looking forward to celebrating his 100th birthday in 2014, is one of the leading representatives of abstract, informel art, and he has received the German Federal Cross of Merit.

Step by step, the exhibition of modern art in the building will be extended.

The concept is to devote different storeys to various cultures and regions of the world, beginning with German/European art, via the Middle East/Asia all the way to Latin America. Renowned artists from around the globe will be invited to create works on the artCAMPUS® in Meissen.
