Which information does MEISSEN have on lead content?

MEISSEN colours, which have always been developed in the manufactory’s own paint laboratory, contain lead oxides in their molten mass. Only with these colours can pastes be mixed that are suitable for different painting styles. It is not possible to produce the colour brilliance that Meissen porcelain has always stood for with lead-free colours.

The legal limits for lead and cadmium are EU-regulated. The EU Commission is currently planning to further lower these legal limits, which has also been subject of public debate. Currently, all Meissen porcelain colours comply with the legal limits. Consumers can rest assured that none of the porcelain products made by MEISSEN are hazardous to your health.
