FESTIVE OPENING: MEISSEN’S NEW MINE AT SEILITZ
Ever since the founding of the Meissen manufactory, the raw materials of kaolin, feldspar and quartz have been fundamental to the production of the cultural asset that is Meissen porcelain. From 1764 until today, the manufactory’s own small mine at Seilitz has been the source for a matchless kaolin with a specific composition essential to the particularly high quality of Meissen porcelain paste.

The House of MEISSEN has been reopened to visi-tors since the beginning of June. Just in time for the summer holidays, the Meissen manufactory and museum will hold a big event to celebrate the reopening.

The Meissen porcelain manufactory extends congratulations and warm best wishes to artist Gudrun Gaube on her 60th birthday. Gaube continues to work as a designer for the Meissen manufactory, creating an array of exceptional porcelain pieces.
