This lion radiates majestic strength. For the figure, Otto Drögsler created an extraordinary décor of graphic tattoo motifs in black and gray, giving August Gaul's historic 1922 sculpture a uniquely contemporary interpretation. Proud and sublime, the lion appears in elegant white with a high-contrast black design-modern, yet firmly rooted in the tradition of the MEISSEN porcelain manufactory.

Inspired by various tattoo motifs, the décor was applied like a collage to different parts of the sculpture, emphasizing its majestic posture. The sculpture is created by hand at the MEISSEN porcelain manufactory: the modelers shape the sculptural details with great experience and the utmost precision before the delicate motifs are artfully applied by the painter. Together, form and décor testify to the exceptional craftsmanship of the manufactory. The sculpture unites contemporary design with masterful porcelain tradition and is issued in a limited edition.
