Art Meets Cultural Heritage. The MEISSEN Drawing School presents its first limited-edition Advent calendar - featuring drawings from the first year of study. The main motif comes from the hand of Thorid Bachmann. All drawings were created by the students in their original size as part of a training program that is as unique as the iconic craftsmanship itself.
Since 1764, the Drawing School has laid the creative foundation for artistic training at the MEISSEN manufactory. The concept: precise drawing, careful observation of nature, and disciplined craftsmanship as the basis for masterful porcelain art. From the first sketch to the final brushstroke on porcelain, the three-and-a-half-year training begins with intensive studies on paper - plants, animals, everyday objects. Already in the first year, it becomes apparent whether a talent is inclined toward painting or graphic design. This direction then shapes further specialization: either Indian painting or floral painting.
The MEISSEN Drawing School is unique worldwide. It cultivates the next generation of artists with a singular expertise. MEISSEN actively supports this development, as an investment in individual creativity and the evolution of its design language.
