description
This modern flower vase, designed by the artist Zhuoyo Hou, has a slender neck and an opening that widens outwards. This special shape of the neck makes the lampion vase easier to hold and it looks like a decorative ribbon that surrounds the bouquet. The slightly raised belly makes it easy to carry the vase made of the finest porcelain with both hands.
Where does the name lampion vase come from? The artist Zhuoyo Hou chose this unusual design inspired by the red silk lanterns of her home country. The transition from hard to soft edges, repeated twelve times, symbolizes the cycle of life. A line is thus created between the soft curves, which leads from softness to sharpness and disappears into the curve of the vase opening. "From nothing to something, then back to nothing" - a philosophy of Taoism.
If you turn the lampion vase on a disk, time seems to flow on in an endless dance of momentum and rhythm. Be inspired by other designer vases from the Meissen porcelain manufactory and bring a piece of cultural heritage into your home.
