• Under the motto “Una notte olimpica”, around 2,200 guests gathered at the Alte Oper Frankfurt for an evening of elegance, emotion, and sporting greatness. The 43rd German Sports PressBall not only honored exceptional figures from the world of sports but also celebrated art and craftsmanship — exquisitely embodied by the historic MEISSEN Porcelain Manufactory.

PEGASOS – A Symbol of Strength and Inspiration
For over a decade, MEISSEN has shaped the German Sports Press Ball with the exclusive PEGASOS sculpture, which has become one of Germany’s most coveted awards. Crafted from the finest Meissen porcelain, the winged horse symbolizes strength, power, and wisdom — values shared by both sports and art.

Designed by Jörg Danielczyk, former chief sculptor at the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, PEGASOS captivates with its majestic wings and delicate gold detailing, evoking the instant before it takes flight.

This year’s PEGASOS Awards honored Rudi Völler (“Legend of Sports”), Kristina Vogel (“Athlete with Heart”), and Hartmut Scherzer (“Sports Media”), among others.
“It is a great pleasure for us to expand our contribution beyond the iconic PEGASOS award — allowing guests to experience our fine tableware” – Tillmann Blaschke, CEO MEISSEN

  • Where Craftsmanship Meets Culinary Art

As part of an extraordinary MEISSEN collaboration, artistry, fine dining, and aesthetic design merged into a one-of-a-kind experience. The multi-course gala dinner took guests on a journey through the world of Meissen porcelain:

From the iconic Swan Service to the modern N°41 Wellenspiel Relief, the delicate blossoms of N°41 Royal Blossom, and the clean lines of Vitruv Graphic — the Mix & Match concept invited guests to savor the evening not only gastronomically but also visually.

    A Living Work of Art

A highlight of the evening: a MEISSEN painter created a hand-painted PEGASOS live before the guests — a unique porcelain artwork later raffled among attendees. This one-of-a-kind piece will serve as a lasting reminder of the night’s artistry and athletic spirit.

MEISSEN’s Message of Heritage and Excellence

“It is a great pleasure for us to expand our contribution to this year’s Sports Press Ball beyond the iconic PEGASOS award — allowing guests to experience our fine tableware and porcelain artistry in all its splendor,” says Dr. Tillmann Blaschke, our MEISSEN CEO.

With its presence at the 2025 German Sports Press Ball, MEISSEN once again united centuries-old craftsmanship with the dynamic world of sports — lending the evening a radiant and timeless elegance.
