Do it Yourself – The MEISSEN advent wreath 2023
#CHRISTMASCOUNTDOWN
  • The Christmas season is a time full of special moments and unique traditions. The atmosphere is filled with festive decorations, the tantalizing smell of freshly baked treats and the warm glow of lights shining everywhere. Everything seems to be preparing for the big celebration. Especially during our childhood, this time could turn out to be a real lesson in patience, where at some point we learned that it's not about biding our time, but rather making the wait as pleasant as possible.

A lot of time passed before we reached the point where we appreciated the pre-Christmas period in all its facets. The activities that we love so much today - baking, snacking, crafting, opening the doors in the Advent calendar and the festive lighting of Advent candles - helped us to bridge the time until the presents were given.

Over the years, these simple pleasures have developed into valuable traditions that now have a firm place in our hearts. They are just as important as Christmas itself.
With our MEISSEN Advent wreath, you can shorten the time. Whether you make it yourself or light the candles every Sunday in Advent. Let yourself be inspired and enchanted!
"In Advent by candlelight, childhood comes back to you."

  • Materials:

    • 4× stick candles (height: approx. 42 cm)

    • 4× gold metal candle plug

    • design sheet or similar fresh foam sheet

    • red Iceland moss (dry)

    • flowers of your choice (e.g. chrysanthemums, hydrangeas, pampas grass, mini-proteen, amaranth)

    • plug wire for fastening the porcelain figurines

    • patent or ivy needles

    Instructions:

    1. Let the fresh foam sheet soak in water, do not press down on it! Afterwards place it
onto a “MEISSEN® Cosmopolitan” platter and insert 4 metal candle holders into the foam whilst keeping the same distance from one another. Spread Iceland moss in small bundles all over the plugging foam and fasten with ivy needles or adhesives.

    2. Cut the hydrangea flower into smaller pieces and stick them into the plugging compound with angled gating. Distribute individual chrysanthemum flowers.

    3. Finally, place the amaranth over the arrangement and decorate individual pampas grasses and proteas. Insert the plug wire from the bottom into the hole of the porcelains, shorten to suitable length and fasten as desired.

    4. Complete your flower arrangement with small details made of Meissen porcelain. The various bisque porcelain pendants, pine cones and acorns are especially suitable for this.
