2021 – A season full of flowers

Before we say goodbye to this year and welcome 2022, we would like to review the past twelve months. For the manufactory, 2021 was an incredible journey full of flowers, product innovations and living modern opulence, which was characterised by vibrancy and the most diverse colours.
With "A season full flowers" we have entered the year 2021, bringing traditional flower painting into the here and now. As an independent genre, flower painting is deeply rooted in the tradition of the Meissen porcelain manufactory, has constantly evolved and is still cultivated today. In European culture, flowers stand for the expression of friendliness, warmth, trust and affection. With "Giant Bloom", the traditional genre of flower painting in bright colours now finds its modern continuation. The model and inspiration was the "Giant Bloom" vase of the same name from the Limited Masterpieces. Thus, floral works of art were created in all product areas, which captivate with their intense colours and luminous brilliance. Particularly popular are, for example, the "Giant Bloom" panther or the new mugs of our "The MEISSEN Mug Collection".
But traditional floral painting was not the only genre to be given a new lease of life and brought into the here and now. Two other contemporary interpretations this year were the cobalt blue painting of the world-famous "Onion Pattern" and the sweeping waves of our popular "Waves" collection, which were reinterpreted on the modern "N°41" shape.

As a plea for more creativity and personality at the workplace and for the occasion, the Meissen Home Office Sets were created this year, which became popular design pieces within a very short time. Another unforgettable product innovation was the extraordinary "Flower Ballet" Home Deco Collection by the renowned German illustrator Olaf Hajek.
A very special highlight was our re-opening event of the „House of MEISSEN“ on 24 July 2021. After a few challenging months, we finally had the opportunity to welcome you back in person and present our new store at the “House of MEISSEN”. With over 2,000 guests and a great family programme around the theme "The monkeys are loose!", the day was a complete success and gave us all a lot of joy.
Making it possible to experience MEISSEN was a special wish of us this year and therefore we created a format with the "ManufakTour" that gives an exclusive insight behind the scenes. From now on, join us on a discovery tour through the production rooms of the manufactory and take the fascinating impressions of our handicraft home with you. In this way, the cultural asset of Meissen porcelain can be experienced particularly intensively and is a unique experience for every MEISSEN fan.
We would like to thank our customers, partners and fans for their great support this year and look forward to an exciting new year in which we can add a new chapter to the centuries of history and tradition of the manufactory.
