Single Figurine Saxonia

With his sculpture "Saxonia," artist and chief sculptor Jörg Danielczyk explores one of MEISSEN's major themes: fashion as an expression of the spirit of the times, elegance, and artistic presentation. Fashion has been a popular subject in figurative porcelain sculpture throughout the ages-from the shepherd's look of the Rococo period to the virtuous, bourgeois attire of the Biedermeier era and the flowing robes of Art Nouveau. The "Saxonia" figurine, created by Jörg Danielczyk in 2015 and inspired by his impressions and experiences in the world of haute couture, also stands within this long tradition. The figurine is adorned with approximately 1,200 enchanting snowball blossoms, all of which are individually hand-applied. No real-life model served as a prototype; even the hairstyle is deliberately designed to be somewhat daring to prevent any confusion with living individuals. The appearance of "Saxonia" should rather be understood as a free artistic interpretation of beauty, self-confidence, and fashionable extravagance. The jewelry also features the famous Meissen snowball blossoms. This motif is still offered by the manufactory today and captivates with its delicate, handcrafted execution-a piece of jewelry that makes every woman's heart beat faster.
