Many legends surround the origin of the Chinese Zodiac Signs. In 2021, Maria Walther dedicates her collection "Chinese Zodiac Signs" to one of these legends. She creates twelve figurines with deep symbolic meaning that are also perfect for giving as gifts. With the shape of the figurine, the artist emphasises the element of water, because the animals reached the finish line from the movement of a wave. "Chinese Zodiac Goat" takes the viewer into the world of white gold. The story tells that the Jade Emperor called for a great race across a river. The first twelve animals to cross the river received a place in the Chinese zodiac as a prize. The goat, the donkey and the rooster were only able to cross the river by working together. So, they helped each other and the Jade Emperor, impressed by the support, appointed the goat as the eighth animal of the Chinese horoscope. For this reason, the 12.5 cm high sculpture "Chinese Zodiac Goat" embodies the qualities kind, helpful or sensitive.
