Since around 1910, the Ming dragon has been one of MEISSEN's most celebrated motifs. In Chinese culture, it is revered as the ultimate mythical creature-a symbol of power, wisdom, and harmony. It has long been closely associated with the Chinese emperor, representing his divine status as the "Son of Heaven."

For the first time, Maximilian Hagstotz presents the dragon as a fully sculptural figure. In its claw, it holds the dragon pearl, a symbol of completion, harmony, and cosmic order. With five claws, the figure bears an attribute historically reserved exclusively for the emperor, signifying imperial authority, power, and the claim to universal governance.
