New tourism highlight: "manufakTOUR"

The production of the cultural asset Meissen porcelain in the manufactory's production rooms can now be experienced at first hand by the public. With the "manufak-TOUR", guests can experience live in the real manufactory environment the artisanal creation of porcelain from the in-house kaolin to the finished product. Saxony's Prime Minister Mi-chael Kretschmer will visit us for the first "manufakTOUR".

As the cradle of European porcelain, Meissen has been a living craft and intangible cultural heritage since 1710, which has been handed down and developed from generation to generation. We are very pleased to be able to offer our guests the daily "manufakTOUR" programme. With the behind-the-scenes tour, the unique craft of producing our white gold can be experienced up close and live. From kaolin from the company's own mine, to the production of porcelain paste, the manufacture of white porcelain, model and mould mak-ing, the mould archive, porcelain painting and the kiln hall, guests are given a compre-hensive insight into the production processes in the original manufacturing areas.
