Exclusive Collection Crater Vase World of Meissen Patterns

The "Meissen Decor Worlds" vase was created in elaborate craftsmanship based on the opulent krater vase. First presented in 2019, it opens up a new world of decorations in which artistic curiosity and masterful craftsmanship merge.
The shape is based on a 19th-century design by Ernst August Leuteritz and references the Attic chalice krater from the 6th century BC - an ancient vessel used for mixing wine and water.

Behind the elegance lies a process of extraordinary craftsmanship: the body is still traditionally turned and the handles are added afterwards.

The vase combines 74 different decorations, on which 22 different painters work. From underglaze painting to Indian painting, classic bird and fruit painting to fine staffage painting, Watteau scenes and dragon motifs, the patchwork decoration highlights the creative diversity of the manufactory. Painting on a relief background requires the highest level of artistic skill. The characteristic handles with their blue underglaze painting add impressive accents and complete the overall work.
