description
A figurative reminiscence of Russian ballet art - the sculpture Harlequin and Columbine, a hand-painted exclusive figure, a work of art by the artist Paul Scheurich from 1914. At this time, the guest performance "Le Carneval" based on Robert Schuhmann's piano cycle enjoyed great popularity at the Berlin Theater. The sculpture "Russian Ballet" shows a young woman in love with flowers in her hair, wearing a low-cut dress and a swaying crinoline skirt. The figure of the fun-loving harlequin, with a black mask and loose bow, caresses her with a languorous gaze - hand-painted in great detail. The inspiration for this work of art was probably the most famous lovers of the Commedia dell'Arte. The five Russian dancers that Scheurich portrayed for this ensemble of artworks were his first and most successful works. This sculpture is therefore part of a limited edition and will be sculpted, embossed and hand-painted exclusively for you if you are interested. A figure that represents an unsurpassed highlight of modern porcelain art in the footsteps of Romanticism.
