description
A beautiful fusion of the aesthetics of antiquity and modern times - the figure of the "female ball player" by artist Walter Schott. In 1897, the Berlin sculptor used this work of art to present for the first time the new influences that sporting exercise had on the female ideal of beauty from the end of the 18th century. His sculpture was the inspiration for the later "Tire Thrower", which was created twelve years later by the artist Reinhold Boeltzig. Hand-painted and beautifully crafted, the female figure's garment impresses with its realistic drapery. Schott deliberately chose a tense pose for the sculpture shortly before casting in order to showcase beauty and erotic charisma in an exclusive and perfect work of art. As a limited edition work of art, this hand-painted and decorated figurine is part of the manufactory's exclusive collection and, like the other pieces in the collection, is considered a testimony to Meissen's unrivaled craftsmanship. If you are interested, the sculpture of the "Ball Player" will be modeled, embossed and hand-painted exclusively for you.
