The "Child Sleeping on Dog" is one of the popular Figurine Collectibles of the Hentschel Children, which Julius Konrad Hentschel created between 1904 and 1907 for the Meissen porcelain manufactory. With their style and subject, they represented a turning point in Meissen Art Nouveau. The dog's gaze watches their surroundings and his tail curls protectively around the deeply dreaming child.
