description
The virtuoso realization of an enchanting rural scene - the figure of the dovecote, a work of art by Meissen master modeller Johann Joachim Kaendler and his journeyman Peter Reinicke. This exclusively embossed and hand-painted sculpture shows three children, depicted as small adults, based on the French model. Each figure fascinates with its richness of detail and the colorful clothing, which is exclusively hand-painted in the finest Meissen craftsmanship. Even the realization of the figurine of the birdhouse and the doves, made in the finest porcelain art, can hardly be surpassed in its attention to detail. This sculpture is truly a work of art in porcelain that reveals a new facet of Meissen's unrivaled quality with every glance. Light gold accents lend the entire sculpture the royal opulence that distinguishes it as part of the exclusive collection. Even after its creation around 1750, this work of art inspired the wealthy bourgeoisie, along with many others, as an aesthetic depiction of outdoor activities, which experienced a heyday in the mid-18th century. The cheerful depiction conveyed less a reflection of reality than the idea of a paradisiacal light-heartedness. In a magical way, the hand-painted and decorated "Dovecote" figure evokes memories of a rural idyll and a simpler world.
