MEISSEN Christmas Tales Medal Fox Ø 3,6 cm

Medals made from fine Meissen porcelain have long been among the prized collectibles of the manufactory. Their richly detailed reliefs are the product of skilled craftsmanship, and the choice of motif gives each medal its artistic expression. The front shows a seated fox framed by conifers. The fox has long been a symbol of watchfulness and cleverness. The scene is rendered in white porcelain relief, where drawing, expression, and surface come together as one clear composition.

The reverse bears the inscription "Frohe Weihnachten" (Merry Christmas) at its center, along with the MEISSEN trademark of crossed swords. At 3.6 cm in diameter, the medal fits equally well into a collection, a dish, a shelf, or a desk. The bright white of the porcelain brings out the fine contours of the relief and makes the piece a understated yet refined object.
