description
This magnificent, hand-painted box made of the finest Meissen porcelain belongs to the renowned Swan Service collection, originally designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler. The elaborate decoration featuring "scattered flowers" is among the signature motifs of the MEISSEN porcelain manufactory, combining grace, symmetry, and finely balanced ornamentation.
The scattered flower painting, typical of the high artistic period of the 18th century, conveys a sense of lightness and vitality while emphasizing the exceptional craftsmanship of the Meissen painters. The delicate color palette-soft shades of rose, blue, green, and gold-blends harmoniously into the overall composition, lending the box an air of elegance and playful refinement.
Standing 15.5 cm tall, the piece displays perfect balance between body and lid. The lid is elegantly finished with a gilded border, while the finial draws special attention: a finely modeled putto riding a fish. This charming motif unites Baroque imagination with mythological symbolism, alluding to themes of abundance, joy of life, and the connection between the elements of water and air.
