Limited Masterworks 2017 Swan Can

In 1815, Johann Daniel Schöne created a limited edition of the "Swan Can". The figure, originally modeled as an ink jar, bears witness to exceptional craftsmanship. With the swan on which a small putto rides, the artist cites a central motif of the manufactory's baroque porcelain craft 's. It was varied in a special way on the famous "Swan Service" by Johann Joachim Kaendler and Johann Friedrich Eberlein: the swan as the main motif adorns almost every one of the originally more than 2000 pieces commissioned by Count Heinrich von Brühl.
