The "Crested Baboon Monkey Musician with Accordion" is part of a limited edition, nine-part monkey chapel by Otto Pilz from 1908. With his "Monkey Musicians", he succeeds in creating a remarkable and ironic interpretation of Kaendler's "Monkey Chapel", the legendary master of arts and crafts, from 1753. In contrast to the baroque chapel, his monkeys have characteristic, individual features. The hand-painted figure of the monkey, more specifically that of a crested macaque, captivates with its humorous appearance and the large accordion in its hand. This new 2014 edition figurine, an impressive result of centuries-old craftsmanship and a highlight for collectors, is limited to 25 pieces, each hand-painted and therefore unique.
