description
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the death of Paul Scheurich (1883-1945), the manufactory honors this important porcelain sculptor with a limited edition of his sculpture "Standing Girl" from 1929. First cast in plaster in 1917, the model was forgotten in Scheurich's studio until he offered it to the manufactory in 1929. In the same year, the figure was molded in Böttger stoneware, the special material that Johann Friedrich Böttger discovered in 1707, two years before his invention of white porcelain, while experimenting with clay.In the process, the MEISSEN experts demonstrated their astonishing craftsmanship time and again. The artist presents here his ideal of female attributes humorously exaggerated.
The figure is limited to 25 copies.
