Fire, earth, water, air. The great Aristotle believed that everything was made from these elements. And if you thought you saw anything else, it was just your imagination. With this knowledge, your daily glance in the mirror could open up whole new dimensions for you. The relief frame created by Sylvia Klöde depicts these four elements in allegorical abstraction: sunbeams, air currents, plants, waves. The material, dark Böttger stoneware, seems to embody the earth itself. So who or what is it that looks back at you from this frame? Is it really you?
