At the end of the 1960s, Ludwig Zeppner created "Großer Ausschnitt", one of the iconic MEISSEN® tableware shapes of the 20th century, to which this egg cup also belongs, and for which numerous decorative motifs were subsequently created. A highlight of this dinnerware series was the decor "1001 Nights" by Prof. Heinz Werner. With it, the internationally renowned artist developed a scenic miniature painting that harmoniously combines handcrafted tradition and modern ductus. The hand-painted elaboration of the scene on the curved egg cup is done in an expressive painting of muted onglaze colors, which contrast with the opulence of the rich real gold rim.
