Limited Masterworks Dominance

Higher! Faster! Further! It is the brash and extroverted who
call the shots in the world we live in whilst the quiet ones
are generally ignored. But isn't true grandeur born of restraint?
These are the thoughts that moved the young artist Maximilian
Hagstotz to produce his eloquent "Dominance" sculpture
as a gesture of support for the more introverted, more
introspective of beings. It reminds us of how important it
is to listen more attentively. For, if we take the time to accord
that which is uttered in dulcet tones the same significance
as the most vociferous of outpourings, we will achieve a
marvellous mix that can be of benefit to each and every one
of us.
One compelling aspect of Maximilian Hagstotz's work is the
clandestine qualities with which he imbues certain features.
As well as indicating an animal at once powerful, sensitive
and retiring, for instance, his elephant's trunk is also
emblematic of nature as a whole and of how humans are
constantly endeavouring to dominate it. Mighty ivory tusks
emerge from each side of the trunk as symbols of both
strength and defensiveness. Raucous humans versus docile
elephants in the eternal struggle of evolution - which of
them is going to get the upper "hand"?
