description
If the Manufactur's Director Pfeiffer had not acquired three models by Emy Bodewig-Pallenberg in 1921, including this baboon figure, the impressive craftsmanship of the sculptress would probably have long been forgotten. Thus, she joins the ranks of artists with whom Pfeiffer reestablished the MEISSEN® model philosophy at the beginning of the "Roaring Twenties".

Bodewig-Pallenberg's monkey made of velvety Böttger stoneware melts in the lower part to a uniform, almost contourless structure, while the whole expression of soulful feeling was put into the physiognomies of the figure "monkey". This requires a fascinating material such as the Böttgersteinzeug 's, which gives our figures a sensual presence and authenticity, as well as first-class craftsmanship.
