The single figurine "Panther" shines bright in the iconic white of the Meissen porcelain, which has helped the manufactory to world fame since its foundation in 1710. The figure of the Panther standing up to groom its fur is by the Saxon sculptor Erich Oehme, who studied animal anatomy and became famous for his expressive animal sculptures. Oehme created the Single Figurine Panther in 1921 after being inspired by the sight of a lolling cat. In what is probably his most popular model, the emphasis of the modelling lies on power and dynamism - this "Panther" is pure muscle and could attack at any moment. He is dangerous and unpredictable, but at the same time of magical beauty and elegance. A wonderful gift for every lover of traditional craftsmanship.
