The "Maestoso Horse" rears up powerfully, its front legs raised and its head held high with pride. This dynamic pose makes the energy and temperament of the Lipizzaner immediately palpable. Particularly impressive is the interplay between the muscularly sculpted body, the delicate legs, and the flowing mane and tail, which lend the sculpture dynamism and vitality. The figure was created by Erich Oehme, one of the most significant German animal sculptors of the 20th century. Between 1935 and 1952, he devoted himself intensively to depicting horses, using famous breeding and dressage horses as models. The "Maestoso Horse" is modeled after a Lipizzaner and combines precise observation of nature with an expressive, sculptural presentation. Crafted from Böttger stoneware, the figure gains an even greater sense of presence. The warm, dark brown hue emphasizes the powerful anatomy and allows light and shadow to play across the muscles, mane, and tail. Shaping the raised, slender legs and the massive body places the highest demands on the sculptors and requires great experience and precision. Thus, "Maestoso" becomes an impressive fusion of movement, material, and masterful craftsmanship.
