description
Invented by Johann Friedrich Böttger shortly before white porcelain, stoneware today adorns many impressive pieces from the Meissen manufactory - including this hand-painted decorated candlestick. The velvety brown material was named after the famous alchemist and is especially popular today in the creation of dinnerware and Christmas decorations. In 1919, the historic stoneware experienced a renaissance thanks to the then manufactory director Max Adolf Pfeiffer - and has since impressed in many different forms and variations. Whether hand-painted or not, the feel and warmth of the material impresses as tableware, Christmas decorations and sculpture. The expressiveness makes stoneware, steeped in history, a truly special material. This candlestick resembles a monument to porcelain history, hand-painted and adorned with stylish gold accents. A unique Christmas decoration that will enhance any setting with a touch of elegance. A candlestick that combines history and contemporary aesthetics.
