With the vase "Mr. and Mrs. Butterfly" made of Meissen Porcelain, which is exclusively limited to 10 pieces, the renowned German illustrator Olaf Hajek shows a fascinating play between mythical illusion and earthly reality. With artistic virtuosity, he combines detailed naturalistic representations with surreal graphic illustrations. Colourful butterflies unfold on the bulbous body of the vase to Rorschach-like portraits with festively decorated hats. The imaginary portraits are surrounded by delicate flower tendrils and filigree animals, while geometric illustrations on the neck of the vase on a coloured stripe decor complement the mystical scenery. The original shape of the vase made of Meissen porcelain is based on an East Asian model from around 1735 and is now artfully reinterpreted with this mythical design.
