The pug has a long tradition at MEISSEN®. Even the Saxon elector and founder of the manufactory, August the Strong, once gave his mistress Countess Cosel this dog made of MEISSEN® porcelain. To this day, the enthusiasm for the pug remains unbroken, which is why MEISSEN® dedicates a collection with over sixty different variations to the popular pets. Whether hand-painted in rich detail or left natural - the masterful craftsmanship produces enchanting four-legged friends. This is also the case with the figurine "Pug" with golden bells, created in the middle of the 18th century. Lovingly hand-painted, the figure shows a dog, ready to romp at any time. With much love and devotion to the craft, he is created in filigree handwork.
