description
A candlestick that makes the history of the manufactory visible. Böttger stoneware, the red-brown stoneware with which Johann Friedrich Böttger carried out his first experiments in Meissen around 1708, marks the origin of porcelain production here. This candlestick draws on that early material character and shows how much expression lies in the clay itself.

The base is hexagonal and supports the bowl in clearly defined steps. The slender, multiply profiled shaft rises in gentle contours and ends in a socket that holds the candle securely. The stepped edges catch light and shadow and make the craftsmanship of the forming process visible. The matte, warm surface of the stoneware remains free of gloss and emphasizes the calm, sculptural character of the form.

The candlestick suits a festive evening as well as everyday ambience. On a set table, it adds a warm accent between porcelain and linen. On a sideboard, a mantelpiece, or in a hallway, it creates depth and a sense of comfort. Because its material and form are understated, it combines easily with porcelain, wood, or flowers and fits both traditional and contemporary interiors.

The candlestick thus connects the heritage of the manufactory with today's living culture.
