The single figurine "Jellyfish" illustrates the artist's special way of working: it is only through the viewer, who places his gaze on the figurine, exploring it in perfect splendour, that the whole beauty as well as the deeper meaning of his sculpture emerges. The Meissen sculptor Max Hagstotz, who trained under Jörg Danielczyk, was already enthusiastic about painting and sculptural design during his school years. At the age of 16, he therefore began an apprenticeship as a porcelain painter at the Meissen manufactory. To this day, he is fascinated by the tradition of Meissen's formal language. The 34 cm high single figurine "Jellyfish" by Max Hagstotz explores the possibilities of porcelain design with its outstanding curved form and is a real eye-catcher that wonderfully expresses Meissen's exceptional craftsmanship.
