The expression, style and subject of the "Hentschel Children" collection were an absolute novelty at the time of the first creation. Now MEISSEN is celebrating the exceptional Meissen modeller, who would have turned 150 next year, with the Hentschel Children "Child with Cat, Scattered Swords". In his very personal style, the Jugenstil artist Julius Konrad Hentschel created impressive snapshots of fascinating liveliness. It is the intensity as well as the naturalness that the artist Julius Konrad Hentschel immortalises in porcelain with his "Hentschel Children" created from 1904 to 1907, marking a turning point in Meissen small sculpture at the beginning of the 20th century. The 12 cm high figurine "Child with Cat, Scattered Swords", limited to 75 pieces, shows Meissen's iconic signet in bright colours.
