Julius Konrad Hentschel is one of the most important artists of the Meissen Jugendstil. Now MEISSEN is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the exceptional modeller with two new series - the Limited Masterworks as well as a miniature series - and is showing a new staffage on the Hentschel Child "Child sleeping on Dog, Edelweiss". The "Hentschel Children", which were created from 1904 to 1907, are impressive snapshots of fascinating liveliness. Boys or girls in simple clothing, absorbed in childlike play with the doll, the dog, the stick or with each other, are worked out in the smallest details and painted by hand. The 11 cm high Hentschel Child "Child sleeping on Dog, Edelweiss" is richly detailed, showing a very individual charisma with emotional urgency.
