The "Kettledrummer" figure, crafted from Meissen porcelain, is part of the legendary "Monkey Band" created by Johann Joachim Kaendler. It exemplifies the extraordinary artistry that made MEISSEN's first master modeler world-renowned. When the ensemble was first created in 1753, monkeys were a highly fashionable motif, reflecting the spirit of the era with both wit and refinement.

All 21 figures in the series are made from the finest Meissen porcelain and are meticulously hand-painted, each with its own distinctive expression and personality. As the whimsical orchestra performs, the "Kettledrummer" calmly carries his instrument, adding his own charm to the lively ensemble.

In celebration of the manufactory's 310th anniversary, the iconic Monkey Band was reinterpreted by modeler Silke Ebermann-an homage to Kaendler's exceptional talent and to the enduring tradition of craftsmanship that defines Meissen porcelain.
