The "Monkey musician with trumpet" is part of a series of hand-painted collectible figures, a reinterpretation of the historic "monkey chapel" by Kaendler, the legendary master of the craft, by former chief sculptor Peter Strang from 2016. The figures are concentrated on the essentials: the focus is on expression. The artist has developed a completely new working style for his monkeys: he dispenses with model molds and constructs each figure completely freely. The monkeys are then hand-painted in the primary colors blue, red and yellow to ensure that the overall appearance of the orchestra remains coherent.
