Since the middle of the 18th century, the Cupid has been part of the Meissen figurine ensemble - whether as a plastic ornament for vessels, ornate watch cases or figurine groups. The Cupid figurine "Cupid philosophising about Love" in a colorful and golden scale with a height of 18 cm. The sculptor and professor at the Nuremberg School of Arts and Crafts Heinrich Schwabe (1847-1924) interpreted the little god of love in all situations between 1877 and 1880: humorous representations of various aspects of love in a historical style. Even today the cupid figurines like the figurine "Cupid philosophizes about Love" are popular gifts for the festival seasons of love: at Christmas, on Valentine's Day or Wedding day.
